Flash Backs and Goals

I don't spend too much time on resolutions but I do pick something in my life to work on in some small way. Last year I chose to concentrate on promoting my writing. Looking back, I've blogged my little heart out, been published in a few magazines, and had both electronic and paper book ads. Picking something difficult to change in myself wouldn't ever get accomplished. This year I plan to concentrate on my health. No big plans, I haven't signed up for a marathon or *gasp* bought a gym membership but I do plan on walking more and driving less. Both my boys think this is a grand idea, which will just ensure that I will do it more. I live close enough to everything that this is actually do able. Except for work and Blockbuster, I can manage to walk to all my errands. If this pans out maybe we'll sell our second car. (Like that would ever happen LOL)

What I truly believe in is SETTING GOALS. I accomplished my 2010 list. *shines fingernails*

2011 List:
  • Add a new publisher to my list
  • Find a home for my novel (once finished)
  • Write two Vanguard novellas
  • Start my Sci-fi story
Flash Backs for 2010

New to me authors I loved:
  • JR Ward
  • GA Aiken
Best book I read in 2010:
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah Maclean

Best Movie:
You know I can't think of any that really affected me. I'm kind of disappointed about the releases in 2010.

Worst Movie:
The Last Airbender. Can I have my money back, please? I loved the TV show, though.

Most Memorable Moment:
Cross country skiing with boys during a snow storm. I didn't lose either of them. *pats own back*

What are your goals and flash backs?

One of my resolutions for last year was to finish a project I had started a few years back. It was out of my normal writing genre of mystery, suspense, and science fiction.

I finished it and now have a paranormal erotic fantasy with suspense, mystery, and romance elements. I found that I really enjoy writing in the paranormal erotic fantasy and romance genre and have written the first novel to be part of a series of three.

My novel is called "Lovestruck Succubus" by Ellison James and is available at amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and most other outlets. Not saying all this for advertisement. Just wanted to mention that it is possible to go independent and still get you work out there.

Love your blog and plan on reading more of the books listed this year. Can't wait to read "Hardwired" by Sara Brookes.

I actually did add a new pub to my list :-)

Best movie: How to Train Your Dragon.
Worst movie: Meet the Spartans

Good luck with your goals!

The Last Airbender was a tv show too?

Best book? Many were really good, probably DD Barant's series, really looking foward to Killing Rocks.

I think I went to the movies one or twice, that tells you how bad a year it was.

I hear you Anne. Most of my movies were on DVD. :D

The Last Airbender was a cartoon series on Nick for a few years. They tried to cram one years of episodes into two hours so it lost a lot good detail. Very sad and for a cartoon the world building was amazing.

I'm kind of ashamed that my goals are all writing oriented. So I'm adding some life stuff too.

1. Save some money to go on a nice vacation with family. Maybe I'll start pulling some overtime.

2. Paint kitchen and dining room so my house doesn't actually LOOK its age.

3. Take the boys mining this summer.

4. Go camping at least once this year.
