Seducing a Dragon
By Selena Illyria
It all started with wanting to write a New Year’s story and then I combined it with the Chinese Zodiac. From there it morphed into three dragons of different elements and one tiger shifter and a New Year’s she’d never forget. All of it drove me to write more about dragons. The first book I ever wrote with a dragon was Dragon Kin: Reclaimed. I was nervous. I was used to writing werewolves and vampires and other shifters, not dragons. Now I’m finding myself loving dragons. I don’t normally go into legends, I take what I know and learned and twist it to suit whatever story I’m using them in. Right now I’m working on the second story in the Dragon New Year series. Here’s a look at the first book, Dragons at Midnight:
Tiger shifter Louisa thought she’d ring in the New Year all alone little did she knew that three, sexy, younger dragon shifters plan on making sure she celebrates things right. Add a little steam, some dragon shifters with a dirty mind and some creative use of furniture and you’ve got the perfect party for four.
Sound good? I’m working on the second book, Dragon Ugly, due out in August from Etopia Press and trying to establish the personality of the water dragon. I really wanted to dive into the element and see where it would lead me. So far it’s been a learning process, but fun.
So here’s a contest for you:
What do you think a dragon should be like? Should they be all fire and hoarding treasure or something different? The winner will get a copy of Dragons at Midnight.

A dragon should be strong and tough but soft or sweet on the inside with a big heart. That they only show to the people that they love.

A dragon should be wily, possessive, strong and passionate about his hoard and his love. He can be charming or tough, but once he finds his mate, he melts only for her!
A dragon should be strong, timid, yet ferocious when angered. They should be protective and extremely possessive...and very very muscular.
