It's Friday...

And A Thirst to Die For is now available at Changeling Press.

Nolan, at war with one of Satan's sons, has absolute control of his surroundings and his life. He doesn't have time to play. But when a woman enters his domain smelling of pure joy and goodness, he decides to make some time -- and his own life changes. Hell is coming to pay him a visit, and he's about to lose control. Here's a taste:

He hated these trips to Hell. It was too damn hot.
“Sorry to interrupt your pleasure. Have a seat.” Satan turned from staring at the magnificent portrait of an angel hanging across from his throne of thorns. “Gargoyles do have the sweetest cum don’t they, Nolan?”
“I like cum. Mine, yours, and anyone else’s.”
“Hmm. I think I liked yours too, but it’s been so long, I don’t remember.”
Nolan smiled. “Want to remedy that? I still got a load.” He fondled his balls.
The devil’s eyes turned red and shot stinging bolts of light into his chest. His shirt smoldered and the stench of burnt skin hung in the air. “Peris needs more power.”
“I know that.” Nolan refused to give Satan the pleasure of seeing his pain. Damn, his skin burned like hell.
“What should I give him? Hell-fire or…”
“I don’t give a fuck. Just make sure it’ll stop Bane or any other of his bastard brothers who surface.” The scent of his burning flesh dissipated, leaving Nolan to wonder for the millionth time how the room always smelled so fresh when they were surrounded by dead, rotting flesh, and the constant burning of the damned. Nolan chose to sit in a chair that stood far from the humongous stone door.
Hell’s Gate.
“Maybe some of his mother’s power?” Satan pondered.
“Don’t fuck with me.”
“You still remain as clean as the driven snow in some eyes.” Satan continued staring at the picture.
“Yeah, right, snow that’s been pissed on.” Nolan stretched his legs out. “Make Bane return the woman.”
“And if she doesn’t want to return?” Satan pivoted around and smiled broadly.
He was a handsome motherfucker, and Nolan’s cock came alive at the memory of what they’d once shared.
“If anything happened to Peris, his mother wouldn’t be happy. Therefore, I’d be unhappy,” Satan reminded Nolan. Crossing the room, he sat on his throne and leaned forward. “I will give him power to keep his brothers at bay only if you remain as his mentor.”
“As if I had a choice.”
“Then we’re good.” Satan stood and walked to the door. He gazed at Nolan. “Our universe and those in it constantly change. Usually for the better.”
Nolan rose and strolled to the portrait. Touching the beautiful face, he asked, “If that’s true, why hasn’t he let you come home?”
Satan shrugged. “You will soon have a new Slayer.” Pausing for a long moment, he added, “I have fond memories of you also.”
The huge door swung open on a blast of heat that nearly knocked the vampire to his knees before it screeched shut behind Satan. Lust slashed through Nolan. “Bastard.”
Satan’s voice echoed in his mind. I’ll aways remember how sweet you tasted.

It's Friday

Made no New Year's resolutions but hoped I'd have better luck with computers and anything else electrical. NOT! My wash machine took a dump last week, literally. Thank goodness for small loads and a great basement drain. Now, to replace it...*SIGH* I'm shopping for one today, wish me luck!

In the meantime, I've got a story coming to Razor's Edge Press. A Thirst to Die For is a continuation of Thirsty. If you missed Thirsty, it's available at Changeling Press as well as ARe. Here's a teaser:

“Must be a cold day in hell. You haven’t come here alone in ages. Losing your touch or what?”
Since Nolan had been asked to keep an eye on the club, and on the devilishly handsome man behind the bar, he almost never visited without someone to make his evening more exciting. Giving Omen’s owner, Peris, a long, appraising look, Nolan’s cock twitched in regret. He’d been too busy lately.
“You asking to be touched? ‘Cause I can do that, and make you like it.” Nolan sat on his normal stool at the end of the long, shiny wooden bar, and eyed too many empty tables. “Where is everyone?”
“Resting up from their wicked weekend. And you wouldn’t know what to do with that cold dick up this hot ass.”
The sound of the swinging door distracted them both.
God damn, the woman was striking. Tall, curvaceous, with dark brown hair to her ass. An ass that cried out to be fucked. Christ. Nolan’s cock came alive. So did every other part of his body, which took a lot of doing, considering he’d been dead too many years to count.
Peris chuckled from the other side of the counter, giving his balls a noticeable squeeze. “Looks like a live one to me. I might make a play for her myself.”
“Not unless you’re looking forward to visiting relatives.” Peris had connections to the hierarchy below, but with the dark one’s permission, Nolan would send the young man to Hell in a heartbeat.
Nolan had been called lots of things -- dead, undead, bloodsucker, motherfucker -- and he lived up to every one of them. He was a Slayer, and he was the best. “Get the lady a beer. Let’s see what she does with it.”
Watching the woman make her way to the bar, he took a deep breath. Human. Omen’s wasn’t a place humans popped into often, and for good reason. The cloying feeling of imminent danger was prevalent, a vibe even the shallowest human sensed the minute they entered the establishment.
This one ignored it, so she must be looking for something. Or someone. The blood pulsing through her gorgeous body would soon be running through his veins. Wouldn’t kill her. Vamps didn’t do that anymore. Okay, some did, but they were the ones he took out of play, and he enjoyed every minute of it.
She slid onto a stool at the opposite end of the bar, and it felt like she’d plopped into his lap. Cum slipped from the slit on his dick, which jerked violently inside his designer slacks. He reached up to loosen a button or two at the collar of the stark white silk shirt he wore. Getting into her panties, if she wore any, was going to be pure joy. After fucking her senseless, he’d taste her -- just a little bit if she was worth another ride. If not, he’d have a full meal before sending her home.
Peris delivered a cold brew and a glass and turned away, pretending to straighten the bottles of liquor on display. Nolan, adjusting his heightened vision, gazed right into her eyes when she looked his way. One hazel, one brown -- not something he saw often. Tipping the bottle toward him, she smiled and nodded before putting it to her lips. No glass! Excellent. A cock sucker, and he’d bet every year he had lived she was a good one. When her pink tongue darted through painted red lips, wrapped around the top of the bottle and licked it clean, he made his move.
Easing into her mind, he sifted through all the day’s clutter. Such tiny panties. With a groan that lodged in his throat, he backed out, sniffing at the air. Sweet. What he’d unearthed in her mind made his dead heart beat like a drum. Fantasies should be played out, and he intended to help with hers.

It's Friday

It was with immense interest (satisfaction!) that I opened this link when I saw it on my Yahoo page.

Dogs are man's best friend. Except, you know, when they're shooting a gun at you.

Eric Pfeiffer's first line tickled me to death. You know my mind when it comes to animals, and I could just hear the dog in my head.

"No. No more, dude." The man grinned, even turned his back to him. Scratching behind his floppy ears, Fido wondered why he should help Hunter. The ducks had never done anything to him. In fact, he enjoyed a sunny day in the meadow chasing a couple birds he'd become familiar with. So, it had come to this. Reaching for the gun, Fido said, "How about I shoot you in your ass?" His supposed best friend still ignored him as he tied up the boat. That was the last straw. Picking up the 12-gauge shotgun, his paw itched to do what he had wanted to do for a long time. He thought about every late meal, every time he was left out in the cold and rain simply because he had to take a piss. It's my turn. BANG! "How's that shit feel?"

Well, it didn't quite go like that. You can read Pfeiffer's full story at The Sideshow news blog link above.

Here's another (unedited) storyline:

The sulfuric stench of fire and brimstone assaulted Nolan’s nostrils as he entered Omen’s. Smelled worse than hell itself. Destruction left in the wake of the devil’s eldest son, Bane, rivaled the putrid scent of burning flesh and fur. “Peris, shut her the fuck up.” Standing behind the bar, Monique’s sobs grew louder. Reading the woman’s mind, Nolan pieced together what transpired. $Shit. “Bane is banned from coming above.” Chairs scraped against the floor, tables banged loudly as they were turned right side up by Guyer, one of the toughest gargoyles alive who helped watch over the club in Nolan’s absence. Most creatures cut a wide berth around the giant bastard.
Anger flashed from Guy’s golden eyes as he pushed a barstool in Nolan’s direction. “Tell Bane that next time you see him.”
Killing any of the Devil’s children was out of the question, but Nolan could make them wish they were dead. He hated returning from Slayer duties to find chaos. Fatigue wrapped around him like a shroud and all he wanted to do was rest, have his cock sucked, and fuck somebody’s brains out. “I’ll handle it.”
Sweeping his arms in a circular motion, Nolan created a gaping black hole in the floor. Battered and bloody bodies, along with the lingering stench, were swiftly sucked into a violent vortex that led to the Devil’s doorstep. $I’m coming, Bane.$ Dark powers garnered long ago from Satan allowed Nolan to send his words laced in the debris straight to Hell. If there was even a drop of Bane’s sweat mixed with the ash hurtling headlong into the bowels of earth, it would search the motherfucker out.
The words would reach his ears wrapped in shiny black shards of ice.
Being a cold bastard had its perks.

That's a snippet from my newly contracted short story: A Thirst to Die For. It'll be released soon by Razor's Edge Press. It's the sequel to Thirsty which is available now.

Happy Friday!

Quench that Thirst!

THIRSTY
Published By: Razor's Edge Press
ISBN # 9781605219081 (Also available at All Romance Ebooks)

To quench her thirst, she'll have to dance with the devil!

Monique has finally found a place where she can live out her fantasies. Little does she know the den of iniquity she's walked into is inhabited by every monster in the world. Nolan, a vampire who works as a Slayer, wants to give the human woman her every wish. But first, Satan's son has to be reckoned with.

The one thing both agreed on is that Moni should have what she wants -- enough sex to quench her thirst.

Excerpt:
Nolan’s voice sounded a long way off. “Monique, you’ve entered the true den of iniquity. We’re all unearthly, otherworldly -- whatever else humans call us monsters nowadays.” His eyes turned various shades of blazing red while he spoke.
The stories were true. “Umm… I should go.” Would he, would they, let her?
“Every eye trained on you will protect you now until the day you die.”
     Her body trembled. “Why?”
     “Because I said so.”
     Lord, help me.
An overwhelming feeling of safety washed through her mind, cleansing the fear that had threatened to blossom out of control. Two pointed teeth gleamed in a quizzical smile. “I won’t deny he exists, but it’s me, a vampire, who will take care of you here.” He tilted his head toward the room. “As will those loyal to me.”
The bartender picked that moment to arrive at the table with two beers.
Taking a deep breath, she asked Nolan, “Did you read in my mind that I drink beer?”
Both men laughed heartily. The answer came from the bartender. “It’s a game we play. I’m Peris, and I own the club.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you.” Her mouth formed an O. “Shit, you can read my mind too?”
“Babe, we all knew what you wanted, and any one of us would have gladly given it to you the way you played that beer bottle with your tongue.”
It dawned on her what the game was. “You wanted to watch what I’d do with the bottle in my mouth.”
“Hell, yeah! Definitely gave me ideas of other things that bottle, and that tongue, could be used for.”
Not quite as tall, but more muscular than Nolan, the younger man’s eyes were whiskey brown with a hint of fire dancing in their depths. Dark, dark hair laced with a reddish hue curled at his neck. A bright, sexy, and genuine smile showed even white teeth. It was the devilish twinkle in his eyes that sucked her right in. Continuing to laugh, Peris brushed warm fingers across her shoulders. Moni shuddered beneath their touch.
     Not afraid…
Wait a minute. “Who’s controlling me now?”
Nolan chuckled and reached for her hand. Pulling it to his lips, he planted a moist kiss in the palm. "I only took your fear away. Your thoughts, fantasies, and ideas, which, by the way, I love, are yours. You can leave any time, and you'd be safer than when you walked through the door." A wide grin spread across his face. "Plus, I don't think controlling you would be an easy thing to do and I'm the best there is at doing just that."

It's Friday

*Peeping from under the covers* "Are the monsters all gone?"

May, was a fun month, Memorial Day has come and gone - it's summertime!! *YEAH*

Due to my job, I get to be up in the wee hours of the morning, and I love it. Quiet, dark, the perfect breeding ground for monsters of all sorts. Especially in my mind. *grin* I've been getting some writing done and this past week Zader's Menagerie hit the cyber bookshelves, so if you've been keeping up with the bloody cats, don't miss this entry which introduces a wolf... err... two, actually. July will see the release of Thirsty, a hot little story about a woman with a fantasy, a vampire who wants to help her live it, and the devil's son who knows just how to make her happy. It has all the good things monsters are made of.

What's really on my mind is writing, and the fact that I'm finding time to do it again. Not as much as I was, but I am writing. That's another thing about the quiet, dark nights. No ringing phones, no cars whizzing by, no interruptions whatsoever. Ahh, the joy of it all. *laughing*

And you know what else? I'm finding time to cook!! Yesterday it was homemade meatballs, with a gravy that was out of this world. Chunks of peppers in every color - red, green, yellow, even orange. Extra jalapeno, of course. The vadalia onions were so sweet! On a soft roll, it was to die for. Fast food quickly loses it's appeal when it's all you have time for. I'm catching up with some of my favorite shows via On Demand. Ooh, if you haven't seen The Voice, you must, must see it.  Talk about talent.

Finally, I'm eyeing my bookshelf, which looks amazingly like an oasis in the middle of the desert. And boy, oh boy, am I thirsty.

What should I read?

It's Friday...

The 13th!
Vampire vs. Vampyre...

The Vampire by Philip Burne-Jones

The same, yet different. One, vampyre, is considered an ‘obsolete’ spelling. A spelling not seen or used often anymore, and that’s why I chose it for my stories. After all, I’m writing about prehistoric cats infected with the bloodlust of vampyres. To use vampire seemed, too new, too American, too normal -- if you can call being a vampyre normal! *grin* It certainly isn’t the first time this spelling’s been used (see John Polidori’s short story The Vampyre), it won’t be the last. I, in fact, use the spelling vampire in a modern day story I’ve written for Razor’s Edge Press. Using vampire felt right for this much more modern story. Okay, I’ve probably thoroughly confused you, so I’ll move on.

Exactly how many other words, phrases, or ways are there to describe the bloodsuckers? Dhampir, Nosferatu, Sanguinarian, plain old Undead. The list goes on, and I didn’t even touch on regional names such as Vrykolakas (Greek), or Strigoi (Romanian).

How many do you know? Feel free to share or discuss them today --
on Friday, the 13th!

Meanwhile, here’s an unedited snippet from THIRSTY, coming soon to Razor’s Edge Press.

Another glance around the room quickly changed everything. Red, green, even orange eyes glowed from every dark corner. Holy shit! What had she walked into? She hadn't been afraid to come out on her own because any room full of normal men she could handle, but this?
Nolan's voice sounded a long way off. "Monique, you've entered the true den of iniquity, we're all unearthly, otherworldly—whatever else humans call us monsters nowadays." His eyes turned various shades of blazing red while he spoke.
The stories were true. "Umm… I should go." Would he, would they, let her?

Unable to do otherwise, Moni relaxed, felt damn good in fact. Two of the hottest men she'd ever seen in her life, and both were touching her. Fantasies didn't get any better.
"Ah, but they do. I haven't tasted or fucked that sweet pussy yet." His eyes, blue again, bore into her. "Everyone of yours will come true tonight."
The hand on her shoulder scorched her skin. "Ouch!"
Nolan's look shot fire at the man beside her. "Peris, you forget yourself?"
"Not at all. Omen's is mine, I only let you play here."
     "Son-of-a-bitch! You want her?"
Turning to Peris, Moni's breath left her body in a whoosh. "What the…"
Nolan's eerily soft laughter filled the club. "Meet the son of Satan."
Hells bells, she was truly fucked now.
