What candy to eat first? by Stacey Kennedy

I loved getting dressed up for Halloween. I mean, really, who doesn’t? But as much as I loved the costumes, I loved the candy more!

Now thinking back, it’s amusing how much time I spent knocking on doors with my pillowcase in hand trying to get as much candy as possible. I remember coming home with a huge bag of junk that undoubtedly would give me a stomachache later.

I’d pour the bag out and it’d look something like this:

My question to you is what do you eat first?

I always started with the chocolate first. Any of the above I would have gobbled up as quickly as possible, and then I would have moved onto the caramels and hard candy. I’m just one of those people that eat what I love first, saving the rest for later, and threw out whatever I hated. Which of course, was hardly any.

I’d love to hear how you eat your candy? Are you like me, eat your favorites first, or do you just dig in and grab whatever you can?

With keeping on the Halloween theme, I’m sharing a snippet from my new vampire erotic romance, SHADOWED SOUL. With your comment about your candy eating habits, you’ll be entered to win a copy of that story to give you a supernatural erotic read on Halloween night.

Also, come find me on Facebook and Twitter. I love to chat!

Four months have passed since Ellie’s heart was broken by her cheating boyfriend, Gerrid. Sick of mourning, she sets out in search of one thing, a man to make her forget. Madame Eve, a matchmaker, arranges for Ellie to meet just the man at Nocturnal Nightclub in Miami. Bryce is not only sexy as sin, but full of mystery. He does things no man should be capable of. Ellie might question his fast speed, cold hands, and even the way he bites at her skin―if he wasn’t so determined to awaken the part of her that’s been buried by lies.

Days have passed since Bryce’s last feeding and his vampire hungers demand to be sated. But feeding is not his only intention. Ellie seeks to be a different woman, to gain power for herself, and Bryce plans to push her to discover it. To show her she can do things she never thought possible and force her to see the strength she yearns for already lives inside of her.

Teaser:

Ellie scanned the dance floor, searching for the man matching the picture Madame Eve had emailed her. Instead, she got a few heated glances from guys she wouldn’t touch on her worst days. So, instead of continuing to search, she lingered taking a seat upon a stool, listening to the bartender and Kenna talk dirty nothings to each other. Why isn’t he here?

After she downed her second Cosmo, goose bumps pimpled on the back of her neck, and she glanced over her shoulder to discover her date standing against the back wall. His gaze focused on one person, her.

Hallelujah!

“Oooo...my night is looking up,” she exclaimed.

Kenna didn’t respond, too busy playing googly eyes with the bartender. Ellie jabbed an elbow into her side. She hissed as she rubbed her ribs. “Ow, what?”

“He’s here. I’m going to dance.” She gestured behind her and grinned to show her intentions.

Kenna peeked over her shoulder before focusing back on Ellie and giving a shit-eating grin. “Have fun.”

Ellie slid off the stool, keeping her focus on the stranger. His mere presence screamed sex. Much taller than her five-foot-five frame—around six-two—but built like a brick shit house. His muscular arms were crossed over his chest, his broad shoulders tempting her and she couldn’t wait to run her hands over them tonight.

Putting a little oomph into her step, she made her way onto the dance floor. The loud techno song washed over her and the vibrations were strong against her feet. Her kinda music—hard and dirty.

Staying at the edge of the crowd, she found her beat and moved with the rhythm. Twirling, she ran her hands along her torso and did anything and everything to gain his attention.

To all appearances, her plan worked.

He dropped his arms to his side and stepped forward. His sparkling blue eyes, short, fashionably-styled black hair, and chiseled features warmed her right down to her toes. Her heart raced. Her insecurities drifted away. The world around her ceased to exist, leaving only him and her.

Wetness pooled in her panties. His nostrils flared and his heated gaze burned deeper. He approached and as he settled in front of her, he grabbed her lower back and yanked her against his hard body. Her head tilted back and he leaned down, cupped her nape and kissed her.

A kiss not meant for strangers―not meant as a sweet hello. No, a promise he would pleasure her and she sang a big thank you, Jesus for bringing him to her. No thoughts. No regrets. Just two sweaty bodies going at it until exhaustion set in.

An Interview with author Stacey Kennedy

So glad to be here today with my friend Stacey Kennedy. If you haven’t had the chance to read her books, you should. She’s fabulous. And I’m going to be asking her some questions today about her new book An Everlasting Bite!!

Big thanks to Rebecca for taking the time to come up with some fabulous interview questions!! I’m super excited to share a little about my writing process and the characters that have touched my heart.

Tell me about Everlasting Bite. What is about? Is this a series from you that we've already seen?

The Blue Bloods Series is a spin from The Magical Sword series. Truthfully, I didn’t know I was going to write Rynn and Briggs lives. But as I was halfway through writing The Devil’s Kiss, which they’re secondary characters in, I was captivated by themmainly because of Rynn’s story. Her life is surrounded by heartbreak, which is the center of this story. It’s her accepting her traumatic past and dealing with all the emotions she suffers because of it. But more than that, it’s witnessing the love that is growing between her and Briggs.

Of course, I can’t just have a romance, there has to be action and mystery too. And Rynn will soon discover that being mated to the Beta of the Patriarch, Valorthe leader over the Alpha’s is more dangerous than she’s prepared for.

Where do your ideas come from?

Anything and everything. Sometimes, it’s from my own stories. While I’m in the middle of writing one I’ll leave it to write another. Other times it can be from a single eventone moment where the characters show themselveslittle ideas that are the pivotal part in a story or even sometimes the opening scene. I can only say I’m grateful that I haven’t run out of ideas and hope it stays that way.

Why write books that are in a series? Why not write Stand Alone Books?

Why write series???? Well, the answer is quite simple, I love them! I love how you can let characters grow in a way that you just can’t get in a Stand Alone story. But most of all, I write series because my books are focused around a woman coming into herself. Owning who and what she is. That acceptance I feel just can’t be found in only one novel. It takes a series of events for the character to discover all there is to know about herself and love who she is.

I have written two Stand Alone Books to date, which are both in submission with publishers. Only time will tell if I’m capable of producing single title books. Presently, I’m working on another. But they all tend to be steamy erotic pieces that focus more on the relationship then on the growth of one’s soul.

How has your perspective about writing changed since getting published? Do you approach writing differently?

Hmmm....that’s a tough one. In ways I’m sure my perspective has changed, but maybe because I’m more knowledgeable now. I knew nothing when I first got published, including grammar and such. But how I approach writing hasn’t changed one bit. I still sit down and dig in—don’t plot. Well, unless they story confuses me too much to do otherwise.

Do you have a favorite hero?

Yes, by far my most favourite character is Briggs. I tend to write arrogant men, who at times you’d like to smack upside the head, when other times you wished you were in their arms. Briggs, however, is a man who stole my heart the second I began An Everlasting Bite. Sure, he can be tough, he is a werewolf after all. But there isn’t a pig-headed bone in his body. He’s loving, support and I swoon over his every move.

Heroine?

Oh this is an easy one too, Nexi. Her character was simply fun to write. It’s not just one part of her character that I’m fond of, it’s all of her. Her humor, kick-ass attitude, the way she deals with events in her life, and her smart mouth. She will be a character that will stay with me forever.

What is next for you?

Well, I’ve got tons of releases still to come, and hopefully some more if my submissions go well. The next release is The First and The Last, the very last novel of The Magical Sword series. You can imagine how emotional this will be for me. Nexi and Kyden started my writing career so saying good-bye to them will be hard. Luckily, I have Rynn and Briggs to keep me busy!!

Blurb of An Everlasting Bite:

Love is born between strangers, yet built upon a bond soul deep―one Alpha’s vow to protect his mate from looming danger, all the while, mending her soul and stirring her wolfish desires.

A vicious werewolf attack in Plymouth, Minnesota leaves a young woman violated, bitten and now, transformed into werewolf. But Rynn Murphy doesn’t have to face this transformation alone—she has her mate by her side. And the charming Briggs―Beta to the Patriarch, Valor―is eager to ease her into this new life and mend her battered soul.

With only weeks to adjust to her new fur, Rynn, follows Briggs while he assists in locating the daughter of the Montana’s Alpha, who was abducted from her home. But this journey is not without danger. And soon, they discover the ones who have taken this young wolf do not want her found and will stop at nothing to keep her hidden. Or so it may seem, as bodies begin to drop around them, the murderous attempts start to appear more as a hit than a smoke screen—leaving only one question, who is the intended target…

Sexy Supernatural Creatures

It’s Halloween night and creatures that go bump in the night are coming out to play...well, we hope they are.  What is it about supernatural creatures that make women go crazy with lust?
Is it the danger?  The strength of creatures?  The of the charts sexiness?  Hmm...I’m not quite sure.  But what I do know is that no genre has ever taken me so completely.  I’ve read all types of novels in pretty much any genre that’s out there, and no matter how fantastic the story is, there’s just something about a great werewolf tale or hot vampire adventure that keeps me captivated.
In truth, would we really want someone to bite our neck and drink our blood?  Maybe some would.  Me, not so much.  But when I read it in a novel, I’m seriously wishing it was me.  Why is that?   Is it because it taps into the romantic fantasy’s that stir in a woman?  I’m thinking, yes.  To be consumed by a man so completely that wants every part of you, including your blood.  Hell, that’s sexy, right?  Or a werewolf that couldif he wantedrip you into little shreds, but instead, loves you in a gentle way.  Yum!!
The thing I love about supernatural creatures, and I why I enjoy writing about them, is the ability to create a man that just can’t possibly exist.  It’s taking all the things we love about our men and amplifying them.  Not only can they love you, but they can love you far beyond what is possible in everyday life.
So, what’s your take?  Why do you think women are salivating over these scary creatures??
