I'm on vacation this week and, as luck would have it, Mother Nature decided to pound on the eastern coast of the United States. In a way this was good, I didn't have to lose vacation days to the inability to travel. In other ways, it wasn't good.
Yesterday was the first day I'd ventured out further than my driveway since Christmas Day. In a way, this was also good. I finished my read-thru of the third Rebirth series book, fixed a few things--one major, but it was a easy fix as something was supposed to be there and wasn't and subbed it for consideration.
In the other way it wasn't good, I heard back on a submission I had out. While it wasn't an offer, they seemed to enjoy the story ("hot and fun") it did offer some advice to fix a few weaker spots and say it didn't mean they wouldn't like to see the story again if I made changes. It was from an ePub that I, personally, consider pretty major. So, believe it or not -- I saw it as a positive.
That kind of thing is part of publication. I've always thought a good judge of character is how you react to such things. Especially when you deal with rejection. Flying off the handle and ranting and raving isn't productive for anyone--especially yourself.
Dust yourself off, get over it and move on.
Stop by my site today for a chance to win my contemporary erotic romance, Hardware and a copy of one of my favorite contemporary erotic romances, Breaking Free. Then, tomorrow, I'll be giving away my entire backlist and each one of my favorite books that I've given away all week.
