I Need a Vampire

Love vampires. That’s all I really need to say. I’ve exhausted my TBR pile of vampire series.
I NEED more.
Let’s see, I’ve read all of LKH, JR Ward, and Anne Rice. I’ve tried Twilight and I’m not into YA. Christine Feehan never caught my interest. (dodges Rebecca and Joann).
I need a series. The darker the better. The more twisted the characters the better. The badder the better, too. And if he’s bald, I’m all over it.
So, my fellow vampire fans, hit me.

If you haven't read Poppy Z Brite's Lost Souls then you're seriously missing out.

And on a totally different note if you're willing to give something unusual a try...

Liz Strange's Dark Kiss trilogy (book three releasing soon)...

You can try the start of my (hopefully growing) vampire novellas set in Cape Town. The Namaqualand Book of the Dead releases today. It's pretty darn dark but probably not what you'd expect from a vampire story.

It's a few months off yet, but starting this fall, I have a brand new gothic urban fantasy vampire series coming out from Orbit Books. The first book is called Blood Rights and just became available for pre-order on Amazon and B&N!

I don't know if you can dodge everything I would throw over Feehan. (Love her!!) LOL. How about funny? MaryJanice Davidson's Undead series. Or Amanda Ashley has a TON of Vampire books. They lament beautifully, very dark.

Also, you might move to Lions, Wolves, and Coyotes and try Lora Leigh!

I'm taking notes!

Lora Leigh is on my list when I get back into a shifter mood.

I was looking at Sheerilyn's Dark Hunter books last night but never saw the word vampire so I wasn't sure. Her website confused me.

Kristen, I'm putting that on my list.

I'm not in a funny mood. I want angst and torture. I did a blog over at Bitten by Books a few months ago about vampires. They kept mentioning this one vamp I'd never read. His name started with an A...

I'll have to dig it up, maybe.

I can't think of much that's not already listed for you to try.

I used to love SK's Dark Hunters, but the later books in the series have downgraded her from auto-buy status.

There are vampires in Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. FWIW, it's one of my favorite series running. It makes me laugh, but has depth and is darker at times. Plus, they're all scorching hot reads.

I know I've mentioned Larissa Ione's Demonica series to you. It's primarily about demons, but has vampires and werewolves. I don't think I have words enough to cover my love of that series.

If someone reached in my soul and pulled out what I want in a book, that series would be the end result. I loved it. I'm hoping her Lords of Deliverance is just as good since it has some overlap in the Demonica world.

(Also, I won the UK edition of Eternal Rider. You could knock me over with a feather. I never win anything! Let alone something like that--that I wanted so bad.)

What about Barbara Elsborg.
She's got a rather lengthy series with Loose ID.
It starts with Consolation Prize.
Kresley Cole has some vamps.
Sherrilyn Kenyon.
