Good day! I’ll be starting your week so pull up a chair, the cyber coffee is fresh and strong. Do a stretch and pop those joints, time to get the weekend out of your system and get your spirit in gear.
Do you believe in ghosts? I do and I’m not alone. There are books and television shows dedicated to this subject. Many theorists debate the different phenomenon but I don’t care too much about the proof. It’s the stories that draw my attention. I love hearing about people’s experiences with the supernatural, a small taste of the true paranormal in our lives.
The movie ‘Ghost’ comes to mind when I think of the romantic aspect. I cried when Patrick Swayze’s character said good bye to Demi Moore before stepping into the light. They were lucky to have the chance to say their farewells but things like this only happen in movies. Or do they?(There have been a few release this year dealing with ghost romances, I think one of them was called My Girlfriend's Ghost?)
I collect ghost stories from people I’ve met. It’s an odd hobby. My mother dreamed she took my grandmother to the ocean and stood on the shore with her. In the morning she received a phone call, her mother passed away during the night. A seventy year old soldier returned to Europe to visit his fallen comrades’ graves. He passed away that night at the hotel in his sleep. Coincidences? Maybe.
(You know, it's still a hobby.)
Ever have a spooky moment? An unexplained apparition or experience? Share it with us over our cyber coffee. Cream? Sugar?
Today, I'm giving away a copy of RED DAWN, my space opera and a reading light to attach to your e-reader or book. Don't forget your e-mail address so I can contact you. I'll choice the winner at midnight.

I believe in ghosts.
Although I have never seen one for real, I have had moments where I could swear someone was watching over me, touching me or somehow was just there.

I don't recall any, although I also think that I'd try like crazy NOT to remember any such encounters! ;) I'm just a big scaredy cat! I wouldn't rule them out as a possibility, but would simply prefer to read about these meetings happening to others!

I have had several, they don't bother me so much now but when I was 12 it was really terrifing. My dad had died the year before and my mom wasn't handling it to well so she was gone alot. My older sister by 14 months and my younger brother by 2 1/2 years and I would be in the house when we would experience the same thing every night. This is what would happen. There is a door in the kitchen that leads to the basement by a set of stairs. Every night (not sure if it was the same time) we would hear foot steps comming up the stairs to the kitchen. When they got to the top the door would open, stay open long enough for someone to walk through then close. Nobody was ever there and as soon as the door close the sound stopped. We got to the point that we blocked the door and turned on anything that made noise (TV, radio, anything)just so we couldn't hear the footsteps. This was back in 1973.

I have to believe in ghosts!! My mother was a very nice, kind person, not anyway out in left field, if you know what I mean :) Mostly when she was in her 20's & 30's she had some intriguing and eerie episodes happen to her in the way of a lady in a white dress appearing to her at a few select times, never spoke to her, she was never scared by her. She also had alot of odd dreams that came true.
The only thing I have sometimes are the dreams, but they scare me !

Hey Judy, I know what you mean my Grandmother Maudie was the same way a no nonsense person that was down to earth but she was definitely one who was connected to the spirit world somehow. She told me several times that someone had died before we ever got the news about them passing away. I asked her once how she knew and she said they would come tell her goodby. Not only that but there was a time when I knew something was wrong with her before she ever called me on the phone, it was like she was calling me with her mind and my clue was I would get a really bad feeling in the pit of my stomach and start to feel bad like she was.
It always amazes me on how connected some people are to the spirit world.
I get dreams, like your grandmother SilverWolf, where people come to tell me good bye or send messages. Sometimes I've got no clue who they are.
Since I moved to Vermont, I haven't had much but when I lived in Canada I swear that house was haunted and it kept me very busy. LOL.
Hi Annie, I don't know if my Grandma go visits from people she didn't know it was family members she told me about coming to tell her goodby. There may have been others but if so she didn't say and I she knew I believed. I still do, I've had to many wierd things happen to me not to believe. I could probably write a small book telling about all of the things that have happened if I was a writer that is.
Don't know if you need the address everytime but here it is again bkwolf(.)whitaker@gmail(dot)com
When my grandson was a little over two, he and his parents lived with us. The former owner of the house had been an older ex-Navy man. He had died in the kitchen. The man's spirit had always been in the house, but when my grandson came to live with us, the spirit became his "playmate".

I can't honestly say I have had a ghostly encounter, but I have had a couple weird premonitions. I do believe that ghosts exist, but I don't think about it too much, I am too much of a chicken

I believe in ghosts - my mother before she passed was a big believer I have always felt she watches over me. I also have dreams but by the time they come true it is like deja-vue.

I would love to have a book light for my e-reader. Thanks
Several years ago my boss' nephew was killed in an ATV accident while riding with friends, leaving behind a wife and young daughter. The story goes that just before the wife got news of her husband's death, their 3-year old daughter told her mom that her daddy had just given her a hug. I guess he wanted one last hug from his little girl. Every time I think about that story, I get chills!

The only eerie moments I have are the times I have a dream which I then experience in real life. It always freaks me out, that crazy deja vu.

I always feel like deja vu happens to me. I must have been here in another life, as some things that happen I know have already happened. Wierd feelings, like someone is looking over my shoulder sometimes happens also. Just strange.....
Excellent post! I believe 'others' are here with us.
I'm only on for a few minutes checking my email on my son's computer as mine crashed last week. It's only 7mos old.
I do believe in ghosts. When my mom passed away, there were several times over the days that followed that I felt a comforting hand on my shoulder when I needed it most. Of course, there wasn't anyone there at the time so, yes, I believe it was her spirit.
Thanks!

I lived in a haunted house growing up and can still recall the sounds of chains going across the attic late at night. We were told the house was used to hide slaves years ago and we always felt a slave's soul was not at rest. I had other encounters with ghosts as well so I sure do believe in them. susan L.
I've never seen any ghosts, though my aunt once lived in a house and says she had one, and finally moved. I did have a deja vu experience once, going to an old house turned into a restaurant I'd never been to, knowing what each room would like look before entering each one.
MY MY MY! SURELY THERE ARE THINGS THAT WE HUMANS WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND WITH OR IGNORANCE OF BEING BETTER. I LIVED IN A 100 YEAR OLD FARM HOUSE AND WAS AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS WITH A SQUIRMING TODDLER WHEN I PITCHED FORWARD AND SUDDENLY AN INVISIABLE HAND SHOVED ME BACK AND I LANDED ON MY BUTT!!
Yes, I believe in ghosts. My grandmother died when I was 13. About 2 months after she died, I saw her and talked to her. She told me that she would be watching over me and that everything would be ok and that she loved me. I have never been afraid of bumps in the night since then
I have live in alot of huanted house and seen alot of strang things.so yes i believe in ghosts.

I definitely believe there's something going on out there! I think a lot of the tv shows are hoaxes, but if you've ever been on one of those haunted tours of Edinburgh or castles, etc, there's no denying the chill you can get actually being there!

Patsy! You're the winner! I'll contact you at your e-mail. Congrats.
I totally believe in ghosts and the paranormal. I have had some good and alot of very bad experiences. We lived in an apt, i had 3 paranormal groups come in to help and they always refused to come back because bad things happenned to them. It would take to long to put into words but a teaser would be having my 19" tv fly out of the entertainment center. Let me know if you want to hear more!!!
I forgot to leave my email brandyzbooks@yahoo.com
