Beware There Has Been A Skeleton Squad Sighting! By Tena Stetler

You have now been forewarned! As with the past three previous years, in the days leading up to Halloween, the Skeleton Squad began their search for the Halloween Spirit.   Each year the elusive Spirit has only managed to elude the Squad for only so long.  Will they catch it early this year? Which is why they were in Cripple Creek, Colorado, one of the most haunted cities in the US. They were visiting spirit friends in caves, haunted homes, and hotels hoping to get the jump on the Halloween Spirit this year. Or will their search continue until October 31st? Follow their adventures every Friday at https://www.tenastetler.com/category/authors-secrets-blog/ through Halloween!

They were sighted partying at a Rocking M Campground in Cripple Creek, Colorado. The Squad had begun their search and could be found in fire pits (yikes) around the campground,

in our wood storage,  and evading the wasps in the dead tree trunk.

Nope, no sighting of the Halloween Spirit in Rocking M Campground. However, I did overhear them say they were going to find and enlist Dave from Ohio, and our own Bone Jet for help in the search! I guess we'll have to wait and see what comes of that next week.

Yep, we happened to be camping at Rocking M that same weekend.
The Skeleton Squad climbed all over our truck begging for a ride into Colorado Springs.  As we were packing up, they stowed away in the under storage in our fifth wheel trailer.

Check back each Friday at https://www.tenastetler.com/category/authors-secrets-blog/ and see what the Skeleton Squad has been up too. Were there any sighting of the Halloween Spirit?

Now a suggestion to keep you entertained until we next meet, one of my Halloween tales, Hidden Gypsy Magic and it happens to be on sale! Check it out. You won't believe what happens at Halloween party!

The Salem Wildlife Sanctuary is Gwen Taylor's life work.  Her Irish Gypsy heritage provides a hidden talent she uses to help the creatures under her care.  But even her magical skills can't help new rescues in dire need of veterinary care.

The opportunity of signing on as the vet for Gwen's sanctuary dropped into Brock Scutter's lap after he expanded his practice to include wildlife. The personal attraction he and Gwen experience is undeniable the more their professional and personal lives collide.

Touring the only "non-haunted" house in Salem they both feel a spark of magic.  A trip to his family's cabin uncovers a heritage he didn't know existed.  If they want a future together, it means facing the consequences of awakening hidden Gypsy magic and a race against the clock to correct past wrongs.

See you next week for more adventures of the Skeleton Squad!

Look no farther than my house for the Halloween spirit. I do it up BIG! It takes days to haul everything up from our basement storage then let me work. From a huge goblin face that hovers over our china cabinet with its gauze "body" stretched out behind it to a lighted Halloweentown village set covering my dry sink (I get a new piece every year!) to faux cemetery stones in the front flower bed, every surface is covered with black and orange scary stuff. This year I'll be in New Orleans for the holiday but a piece of my "spirit" will be ooohing and ahhhing little trick-r-treaters at home. I even have a beanbag ghoulie that rides in my car.
