Happy Sunday!! I'm back to share another story I'm reading, because I cannot gush over River Marked enough. It's a very rare thing for me to read a story where there is little to no romance. But I'm addicted to the Mercy Thompson novels.
Not saying there is no romance at all, it just plays a small role and you won't find any steamy scenes. These types of stories I tend to stay far away from. So, when I picked up the first novel, Moon Called, I really had no expectations. I must say I was floored the second I started reading it--truly and undeniably captivated!
Silver Borne was the last Mercy Thompson story I read and I'll admit I was disappointed in the direction it took. But River Marked has redeemed it all for me. Not only has the plot been fantastic, but more of Adam and Mercy's relationship is shown in this book. I wasn't expecting it so it's been a wonderful surprise.
I am now (well...maybe have been all along) officially head over heels in love with Adam. He definitely tops my favorite hero's list!
If you get a chance, check it out--it's a wonderful series!
Car mechanic Mercy Thompson has always known there was something different about her, and not just the way she can make a VW engine sit up and beg. Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. She's never known any others of her kind. Until now.
An evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River-one that her father's people may know something about. And to have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need their help...

Werewolf love...
The journey as a writer all began when I was a teen and wrote poetry, which still to this day I pull out to have a good laugh. Later on, I tried a couple of times to put a book together with no such luck. Couldn’t ever get past the first few chapters. But once I was exposed to the paranormal world, ideas came quickly.
At first, it was a way to keep my brain alive since being a stay at home mom can be a little let’s say―numbing. It was an escape from screaming kids, dirty diapers and plain old mom duty. It started as a hobby, but as the stories progressed it became a passion. Now, I indulge at nap time, especially the juicy bits! Every mom needs a good thrill!
So here in Kitchener, Ontario, I am a thirty one year old wife, mom, house cleaner, cook, teacher, play-doh extraordinaire, swing pusher, toddler chaser after – who loves the outdoors, curling up with the latest flick, and if I’m not plugging away at a new novel, I’ve got my nose buried deep in a good book. So there it is―my life!

I love Mercy and Adam, too. I think I'm the opposite. I loved Silver Borne. River Marked was good, but it had some slow spots that took away from my enjoyment. I can't wait for the next book. I heard it's a 2013 release, though, which is gah!
I'm re-reading her Alpha and Omega series in the meantime.
