Unveiling a Deep Dive into the Release of "Lok's Love" by Keri Kruspe

“Lok’s Love” has been… well… a labor of love. While a novella of just under 32,000 words, I put a lot of heart and soul into each scene. For those of you who’ve read my first series, An Alien Exchange, I ended the trilogy with Lok taking care of his narcissistic brother who held him as an isolated prisoner for over fifty years out of spite and jealousy. But I purposefully left out what ultimately happened to them.

In this article I’ll not only highlight the two main characters, Lok and Althea, whose passionate journey defines the heart of “Lok’s Love”, but I’ll give you a peek into the richly crafted supporting cast as well.

So, let’s get started!

MAIN CHARACTERS

LOK

Lok, whose full name is T’terlok “Lok” Shon U’unk, is from the planet Zerin. He was born with an almost identical twin brother, Shon T’Terlok U’unk. Lok looks like a typical Zerin with dual-colored eyes with a deep jade inner circle and a lighter apple green outer ringing around an iridescent pupil. He has a full head of black hair liberally sprinkled with yellow strands that shows signs of middle age.

of his own existence. Adrift and uncertain about the very purpose that once anchored his life. While his twin brother, Shon, was born bald with eyes a solid black color. When he started going through puberty, their parents erased all records of their “deformed” child and exiled Shon to a remote galactic labor camp.

Lok never saw him again until a fateful day thirty years later.

By then, Lok had become the golden star of the political scene in the Federation Consortium. After years of struggling, he was about to be appointed as Chancellor by the Galactic Senate and Judicial ruling body. It would make him the most influential government entity in the galaxy, having ultimate control over every decision made by the member planets.

But on the eve of Lok being promoted, Shon showed up and captured him with a paralyzing drug and took over his life. Shon resumed Lok’s place, covering his differences enough that no one noticed the switch.

To make Lok suffer, Shon held him in isolated captivity for over fifty years. Lok’s only relief came when Shon, by his own greed, caused him to become a dying vegetable. Even though Shon tormented him, Lok felt it was his duty to take care of Shon until he took his last breath.

In the beginning of the novel, we find Lok burying his brother’s ashes on a remote planetoid he’d claimed as home called Hiigar. Now truly alone for the first time, he discovered he was lost in the vastness

ALTHEA

Althea MacGregor was more than eager to attend the Alien Exchange program, anxious to find her true love in space. Being a divorcee in her early forties, she finds that continuing her life as a convenience store manager only enhances her feelings of being unworthy for life and love. When given the chance to join the Exchange program, she realized that waiting around for her meaningless life to change wasn’t for her. Craving a deeper existence, she leaves everything behind and does something totally radical for once. To find love in space.

Too bad things don’t go as planned.

Instead of attending the Exchange, she finds herself snatched before the ceremonies began and is taken and held prisoner on a gangster planet called FiPan. FiPan had once been the stronghold of a notorious criminal by the name of Dread Pirate Maynwaring, but had since fallen into collapse once the pirate was vanquished (see “Ki’s Redemption”).

Althea ends up crash landing on Hiigar, where she gains employment as a part-time waitress and part-time singer at the Galaxy’s Pub run by two strange looking aliens, Hayami and Fylgir.

(I must apologize – Hayami has for arms and Fylgir one eye. Just couldn’t make Midjourney cooperate with me!)

That’s where Althea meets and falls in love with Lok when they become hostages in a violent take-over at the Galaxy’s Pub by a species called the Ozevroc.

SUPPORTING CAST

"Shysuta" - Hayami's Sister

A Sismall male "Tukkuttok"

He works for Sysuta

A Draconian female "Vovin"

Who also works for Shysuta

The small village of Kijiji where the Galaxy's Pub is

IN CLOSING

One of the things I love about this poignant tale is the backdrop of love and resilience in a fantastical universe. I did my best to fill it with rich characters, strange-otherworldly landscapes, and pulse-racing action. I wanted this story to be a science fiction romance that delves into the heart of darkness and redemption, only to end with a satisfying conclusion.

“Lok’s Love” debuts on Valentines Day, but can be preordered now for only 0.99¢. I hope this short article has intrigued you enough to give Lok and Althea’s love story a try.

Angels and Angel Books

In Yesterday's Angel, the angel Azazel isn't a demon as often portrayed by Hollywood. He is a fallen angel, but not evil. He feels he isn't fallen because he feels the Grigori fell for the sake of love.

In my research, I discovered a book simply called Angels written by Malcolm Godwin. This book is a wealth of information about the subject, presented in an interesting and witty writing style. Even the character and seals of some of the more famous angels are given, and he goes into detail about questions you didn’t know you had, for instance, the identity of the Watchers or Shining Ones.

Who the hell are they? Choirboys of the Ninth House, aka the Grigori mentioned in the Book of Enoch (another interesting find!), they were angels sent to Earth to teach Man. Unfortunately, they were a little too zealous in the performance of their jobs and taught the use and design of weapons.  There is one mention of them in the Bible, King James Version, in Genesis 6:2: That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Have you ever wondered where your guardian angel stands in the heavenly scheme of things? Well, Mr. Godwin can tell you!

According to the Hebrews, the universe is a hierarchy. The Christians adopted this model of the Cosmos in which God is both at the center of the Cosmos and the highest point of the hierarchy. Entities radiate outward from His Presence, some being close to the center while others move further and further away from the Divine Source of Light and Love.

Let’s look at the Nine Choirs of angels:

Highest Triad

1.   Seraphim

2.   Cherubim

3.   Thrones

Middle Triad

1.   Dominations

2.   Virtues

3.   Powers

Lowest Triad

1.    Principalities

2.   Archangels

3.   Angels

Guardian angels would be of the Lowest Triad, therefore, further from the center of the Cosmos and closer to Man himself.

In my new release, an angel fantasy, Yesterday's Angel uses a lot of background from the Grigori as Azazel, the point of view character, was the leader of the Grigori when they fell in love and fell from Grace.  The story is a love story in war's shadow, running along Azazel's being a conscientious objector to the Fallen in the war to end all wars--Armageddon. Both Celestials and Man fight for the fate of Man and the rule of Heaven.  Here's the blurb:

I am, and always was, addicted to love. ~ Azazel

Azazel is a warrior angel, the leader of the Grigori when they fall from Grace for marrying mortal women. Their other sin is revealing the secrets of Heaven. Azazel gives the women the arts for seduction—mirrors, paints, perfumes. He gives men the weapons of war.

Fast forward to the current day. Azazel lives in Las Vegas, but he’s bored and seeking a Purpose. He finds Nan—badly in need of his talent with beauty. She’s a sad, faded woman working double shifts in a diner. He determines to polish this diamond in the rough. Azazel never fails. His problems begin when he falls in love with his lovely (but married) project…and Gabriel’s Trumpet announces the Second War in Heaven.

Excerpt:

As I strapped on a shiny breastplate bearing Lucifer’s seal, I shook my head. “Sam, we’re on the losing team.”

My brother nodded and continued with his armor.

At the first opportunity, switch sides.  I belted my sword sheath around my waist.

Samyaza frowned as he fitted a silver helmet with Satan’s sigil over his dark hair. The Righteous won’t allow us to fight with them.

I tossed my sword, end over end, and as it dropped, caught the jeweled hilt.  If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

I felt less certain than I sounded, but, as a leader, I must wear the mask of confidence.  The nightmares flickered in the corner of my eye.  I shivered.  Would I be one of the angels who ceased to exist in a shower of colored sparks?

Again, Gabriel’s golden trumpet shattered the expectant silence.  Paimon’s bagpipes shrilled an answer. The bruised sky rained angels. Wings of every shade and hue eclipsed the clouds, a great hissing in the air. Swords flashed like wands of light, clashed with the clangor of black iron. The Hosts were armed to kill.

Paimon piped the Legions of Hell into battle to the haunting strains of Amazing Grace.  Every hair on my body stood on end. We took the field in absolute darkness, a smothering blanket that would cloak the entire earth.  A bolt of lightning spotlighted a lone angel standing above the battle on an outcropping of rock.  As thunder rocketed through the valley, he bowed, his golden hair sweeping the ground.  He straightened, capturing every particle of faint light until he shone like a gilt statue.  The most beautiful and evil of the Host smiled.

“Lucifer,” I murmured under my breath. “Why isn’t the Morning Star leading us into battle?”

“Do I detect sarcasm in your tone?” Samyaza's eyes narrowed at the spotlighted figure.

New Novella Release: Pre-Order sale 0.99 by Keri Kruspe

I’m so excited to tell you about my newest novella, Claude & Amata, is coming out on October 16th. I’d like to share with you a couple of reasons why this short story is special to me.

One, it's more of a love story with a contemporary theme than what I usually write. It takes place on Earth rather than on another planet or outer space. It’s also a second chance romance I’ve been itching to write. Not only because Claude is in his fifties, but for Amata who's loved and lost loooong before she met Claude (about 200 years).

Second, (shh, now don't tell anyone what I’m about to share. This has got to be our little secret…) but I based Claude on an old boss of mine. He was tough, shrewd, and handsome, like Sean Connery back in the day. I'd only intended for Claude to be a minor character when I first introduced him in the series starter Alien Legacy: The Empath, but sometimes these folks take over no matter what your intentions are! And believe you me, Claude had no trouble strong-arming himself to become more than what I planned.

The best news is the Pre-Order sale going on right now. It’s only 0.99¢ until the 17th. After that, it goes to its regular price of $3.99.

To help tempt you, below is a snippet from the book below. Sit back, enjoy a sip of your favorite beverage and enjoy!

Outside Claude's townhouse in Langley, Virginia, the icy winter wind howled and cried throughout the evening air. Inside, the room was dark, with flickering flames of a steady fire in the stone hearth casting dancing shadows against the deep reds and oranges of the mahogany paneling. The crackle of the fire with its woodsy scent brought subtle comfort to his weary mind.

He settled in his favorite leather recliner, feet up, with a glass of Hennessy cognac in his hand. It had been months since the attempted alien invasion ended. On the surface, things seemed to have returned to normal. Whatever normal meant anymore.

As he stared into his cognac, he couldn't help but reminisce about its original purpose. He had high hopes when he bought it, that he’d be celebrating its smooth flavor with a loved one as a symbol of something momentous. He chuckled. That all seemed pretty hollow right about now. With a sigh, he closed his eyes and allowed the warmth of the fire and the aroma of the rich alcohol to envelop him.

Memories of his past crept into his thoughts. The people he used to know and the risks he'd taken for or with them. The hard decisions he made over the years that got him where he was now. And the heavy personal price he paid for them all.

Bottom line, he was tired. So tired.

This morning, he’d resigned from FEAR, the First Encounter Alien Resistance section he'd overseen at the CIA. He’d stayed on at the agency for the last six months to help Director Obsidian (aka Jazmi Tiamat) delete as much evidence of the alien invasion as possible. While conspiracy theories abounded, most of humanity ignored them and went about their daily lives, none the wiser.

Then, about four weeks ago, the director submitted her own resignation.

He guessed her pregnancy had something to do with it. But more than likely it had to do with her being half alien and wanting to work with those aliens from Akurn before they moved out of Transkip range of Earth.

The CIA offered him his own directorship, but he’d turned it down. His mind wasn’t in the game anymore. The thought of resuming his former life held little appeal. He sat back with a grunt. No, he was too busy pining over a woman he could never have. He closed his eyes and visualized the last time he’d seen her.

Amata. Pale, delicate skin, alabaster-white hair in a sassy cut that lovingly framed her jawline. Her intelligent, blue-green eyes belied her innocent-looking features. She appeared as if she was in her early to mid-twenties.

But he knew she was much, much older.

He’d asked her about her age once.

Her only response was a mysterious smile with a brief explanation of how her lifespan was connected to her planet’s orbit and not Earth’s. She then whispered, “Every woman has to have some secrets.”

“Honestly, Claude. I can’t believe you’re just sitting there mooning over a woman and not going after her.” A soft feminine chuckle. “That’s so unlike you.”

Everything within him stilled. He hadn’t had a dream about his late wife Barbara in a long time. After she’d died years ago of brain cancer, he used to dream about her all the time. If he was the romantic type, he’d give in to the notion her spirit visited him.

“Barbara. Where have you been?” He grabbed the plain gold wedding band around his left finger and rolled it. That nervous habit was hard to break. Was he reacting like this because Barbara was here, or because he hadn’t thought of her since meeting the enticing Amata?

A Storm is Coming—Violet Storm

By Maureen Bonatch

I'm excited to share my latest urban fantasy release, Hell's Bounty.

Hell's Bounty is the first book in the Violet Storm Urban Fantasy series.

The truth is stranger than fiction when you’re a Paranormal Identifier.

Occasionally, we encountered someone at the Supernatural Station who wasn’t your garden variety supernatural. I guess that should be expected after years of crossbreeding. So, I’d always get first dibs on anyone, or anything, that didn’t quite fit into any species.

I have no memory of my parents. My unusual abilities allow me to identify others like me, the Unknown paranormal. But this time, someone, or something, arrives at the Supernatural Station that I can't identify. She looks alive in her human disguise, but she's already dead.

The devil has something he calls soul-stoppers. It's more like body snatchers, and this one has a face I recognize and claims my long-lost friend sold her soul for me. With my powers growing in ways I don't understand and my face plastered around the Underworld, it's risky, but a demon might be the only one with the answers I seek.

If I help her escape the confines of the Underworld, can I trust her to help me trick the biggest trickster?

Excerpt From Alien Legacy: The Mage by Keri Kruspe

In the Ancient Alien Descendants series, the five main heroines were identical quintuplets separated at a very young age. In fact, in the first three stories, these ladies had no idea they were anything but human. It was a shock when they discovered they were alien/human hybrids, test-tube babies. An alien race called the Akurn's created them as a weapon against their enemies.

Unknown to the aliens, a resistance group known as the WOTA (Warriors of the Abandoned) kidnapped all five girls when they were toddlers and separated them to be raised apart on Earth, far out of reach of the Akurns.

In the final story of this series, I gave a glimpse of how that happened as seen by the female protagonist, Jazmi, the heroine in Alien Legacy: The Mage. Here is an excerpt (with minor editing) from that novel due to be release on Valentine's Day!

♥♥♥

Eighteen-month-old Test Subject One sucked her thumb and watched the strange grown-ups running around the room like dodo heads. She glanced at her sister, Test Subject Five, curled next to her, whimpering in her sleep. Popping her thumb out of her mouth, she placed a comforting hand on her sister’s forehead and sent her a wave of calm. Her sister’s thick dark hair was soft, but slick with sweat. Lines of tears creased her chubby cheeks as she sniffled before her face smoothed in sleep.

Test Subject One glanced at her other three sisters in the enclosed pen across from her. Test Subject Two was awake. Her dual-colored eyes of orange and brown were wide as she watched the group of scurrying adults.

Test Subject One tilted her head, trying to hear what the big ones whispered as they hobbled around her sisters’ cage. She squinted, trying to read their minds. But all she got was stupid static.

“Are you sure these are the ones Thoth made to attract Princess Inanna's sons?” This came from a really big man. His booming voice didn’t whisper very well.

She wrinkled her nose. His hair was weird. Instead of the bright white of the mean scientists, his hair was dark like her sisters’.

“Keep your voice down, Damuzi!” A woman's harsh response was low and made Test Subject One giggle. “Your whisper makes more noise than the rest of us put together.” The pretty lady grabbed the giant’s arm and shook it as she glanced around. “Of course, they are. You brought the blasium, didn't you?” She let go of his tight sleeve and held out her hand with the glare.

“Ah, Edinni, you know I did.” His full cheeks reddened above his close-cropped beard as he plopped a thin silver wand in her outstretched hand.

Test Subject One wanted to run her hands over the soft-looking hair around the strange man’s face. She clapped with a silent giggle. Maybe if he got close enough, she could grab the prickly-looking hair and squeeze.

“Oh, those poor babies!” A high-pitched squeal came from another white-haired lady. Her gown was so pretty. The sparkly dress was a rainbow of colors. Test Subject One stuck her tongue out at the ugly one-piece suit she wore. She hated the icky tan color. She wanted something nice and bright. When she got big, she'd wear nothing but pretty dresses every day.

“Amata, stand back!” Another man grabbed Amata's elbow and pulled her away. This one had white hair and pale skin like the pretty ladies, but there was something about his unfriendly face that made Test Subject One frown. “Let Damuzi open the cage. Then you can grab one.” The man's head tilted to the side. His icy-blue eyes glanced back and forth.

“Get out of the way, Amata! I get first pick.” Another white-haired lady pushed her way in front of Amata.

The pretty Amata in her cute dress frowned and backed away. “Eulli, you're going to scare these girls by rushing to them like that.”

“Look at that one!” Eulli, with wild eyes, turned to Test Subject One's cage and gripped the bars with a shake. She stared.

When the cage rattled, it woke Test Subject Five, making her cry.

Test Subject One sent a wave of calm to her sister and held her hand. It's okay. I won't let the bad people hurt you. Her sister's dark eyes filled with tears as her lower lip quivered. But she stayed quiet.

“She looks like us.” The woman gushed.

Test Subject One's stomach dropped. Why was the crazy lady pointing at her?

“I want that one.”

Test Subject One stuck her thumb back in her mouth to stop from blurting out a loud no. She didn’t want to go anywhere with that freaky lady. She had to stay here and take care of her sisters. Who else would protect them from the nasty things the scientists had in mind for them?

She glanced at the others in the cage across from her. The only reason they let Test Subject Five stay with her was to keep her from constantly crying and wailing. Her other two sisters were awake now.

Test Subject Two narrowed her dual-colored orange-brown eyes at the man in front of her.

The other two stared with their single-colored brown eyes at the group of strangers around them.

“It’s about time you used the blasium to open it up, Damuzi.” The crazy lady’s ice-blue eyes gleamed at Test Subject One.

When the big guy pointed the slender device at the cage door, it dissolved open.

At the cage opening, Test Subject One stood on wobbly legs. She grabbed a cage bar for support and put herself in front of her sister to protect her any way she could.

The woman grabbed Test Subject One under the arms and lifted her out of the cage.

Test Subject Five screamed when the bony woman whisked her away.

“I'm going to call you Jazmi-Tiamat.” The woman pulled Jazmi’s face to hers and kissed her enthusiastically on both cheeks. The lady sighed. “You are so pretty, just like a little princess.” The woman swung her around and shoved her at the creepy man next to her.

He raised his hands in protest and stepped back. “Hey, get that away from me. I’m not touching one of those... things.” He crossed his arms over his thin chest. “I still don't see why we’re doing this.” His bleached-blue eyes darted from side-to-side. “Don't we have enough problems since you made us leave Eengurra, Eulli?”

“Oh, stop your whining, Lepit-Enlil.” She pulled Test Subject One close and leaned in to whisper to the guy. “Think of the thousands of credits we’ll have when we go to Earth. We can leave this goddess-forsaken place and live in the lap of luxury like we’re entitled to.”

Her sour breath made Test Subject One sneeze. She pinched her lips together and puffed her cheeks holding her breath. It didn’t take long to blow the air out with a huff. Squeezing her nose, she breathed through her mouth.

“If you hadn't made that unscrupulous deal with Warlord Mattaki-Bunu, we’d still be on Akurn,” the bad lady hissed.

Her flying spit hit Test Subject One in the eye. Lips quivering, she rubbed it out with a fist.

“Now keep quiet.” The woman snarled at Lepit-Enlil. “And look like you're excited about taking this on.”

Test Subject One blinked and turned in the man's direction.

He stood with a frown and his thin arms crossed.

“Besides,” Eulli continued. “With her coloring, she's got to be like us, and won't have any of the special talents they reputed the Adamou to have.”

Screams and shouts in the background made baby Jazmi push on the woman's shoulders to watch her sisters.

Both cage doors were gone.

People grabbed her sisters who fought and cried.

Test Subject Two struggled with the older woman holding her while Test Subject Three gripped the lady named Amata as if her life depended on it.

Two men grabbed Test Subject Five out of the cage.

Her piercing wails were so loud they drowned out the words the big people yelled at each other.

Jazmi struggled in the woman's bony hold, trying to get loose so she could go to her sister and calm her down. She stretched out her arms to her sisters. Don't cry! Don't cry! She sent a mental picture of them hugging. But the terror her sisters suffered were too great. The image didn't get through. The more her sisters struggled, the harder Test Subject One fought to get loose.

Eulli grabbed her tighter and headed for the door. “Let's get out of here, Lepit-Enlil, before we get caught.”

Test Subject One screamed and pulled the woman’s tightly woven hair, desperately trying to get her to turn back.

No... no! She couldn’t leave her sisters. Who would protect them? Who would take care of them, so the bad men didn't hurt them?

“You're right, Eulli. We gotta go while the Transkip is running.” The man grabbed the woman’s sleeve and pulled her out of the room.

Baby Jazmi didn’t watch where they were going. All she saw were her sisters crying, reaching out and screaming for her not to leave them. “No! Stop! Take me back! Take me back now!” For the first time in her life, Test Subject One spoke to the big people.

The woman stumbled but didn't stop.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't squirm out of the woman's unyielding hold as they raced down a deserted hallway. The last thing Jazmi heard were the heartbreaking wails of her terrified sisters.

Alien Legacy: The Beginnings By Keri Kruspe

At an early age, I got caught up in several theories about man’s origins. During Sunday school I got introduced to the bible stories about the wondrous miracles and magic that happened thousands of years ago. I used to love hearing about men who lived for hundreds of years and how angels visited us. In my mind, they were glorious, winged creatures sent to protect and aid us, as well as to give us guidelines on the right way to live.

And what would happen to us if we didn’t (Sodom and Gomorrah anyone)?

After reading those stories, my only thought was… well, where are they now? How come they left? Are they ever coming back?

As I got older, I came across Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Däniken, which I found fascinating. In that book, he hypothesis that alien astronauts gave ancient civilizations their advanced technologies to build several monolith structures along with astronomical knowledge.

From there I stumbled on the various works by Zecharia Sitchin. In his novels, he states that the ancient Sumerian culture included a race of exterrestrials called the Anunnaki who came from a planet beyond Neptune named Nibru. This planet had an elongated, 3,600-year-long elliptical orbit around the sun. He wrote its estimated they entered our inner solar system around 450,000 years ago, looking for minerals, especially gold. Which they found and mined in Africa.

Sitchin explains how these aliens, the Anunnaki (“those who from heaven to earth came”), came here to replenish their dying atmosphere with gold. One of their leaders, a fellow by the name of Enki (Sumerian god of water and human culture) who suggested a way to relieve the mutinied Anunnaki who revolted against harsh working conditions in the gold mines. To help them out, they took slices of the Homo erectus genome on Earth and combined those genetics with the Anunnaki, thus creating a supposedly dim-witted creature called the primitive workers (Homo sapiens).

Then there’s the series on the History Channel called Ancient Aliens. That show started in 2009 and is still going strong. One of the episodes in season one was about Däniken’s Chariots of the Gods. That helped to launch and create the popular motif of Ancient Astronaut Theory.

Over the years, Sitchin, Däniken and the Ancient Alien show have been soundly rejected by scientists, academics, and historians. They claim those theories have no basis in truth. All the same, a lot of those same folks agree they can’t be ignored either.

I’ll be honest with you. I don’t really have an opinion about the theory one way or the other. What excited me was the possibility of these ancient astronauts coming back. What would happen if they did? With the planet Nibru having an elliptical orbit of 3,600 years, how would they react if they came back to Earth now that we have over eight billion inhabitants? Would they still need gold for their atmosphere? What would happen if they came here, expecting to “harvest” whatever they wanted from Earth?

That’s when a plot for a new SciFi Romance series percolated in my brain.

Ancient Alien Descendants – The Series

Like with most authors, I took an idea and warped… er… morphed it into my own world. I changed the name of Nibru to Akurn. I kept the elliptical orbit for 3,600 years and made those aliens lifespans tie into the orbit. That makes one year for them around 3,600 years to us.

This made my aliens for all practical purposes... immortal.

To give it some depth, I created their society to have a male-dominated social system. There, the women are considered weaker, both physically and mentally. As a general rule, they considered women were incapable of making important decisions for themselves or others. Their unwavering obedience was expected and enforced. With death if necessary.

I began the series with the prologue (free when you sign up for my newsletter!) called The Day Behind Tomorrow. I created a monarchy where the only legitimate heir to the throne had to be between the king and his “First Queen”. While King Du-Uru could have as many wives or concubines as he wanted, the only legitimate heir was his child with the First Queen. Since their only child was a daughter named Inanna, only she was allowed to inherit the monarchy, but she had to be mated to a male to assume the throne. Because First Queen Asta died (under mysterious circumstances), Inanna’s sadistic father intended to claim her as First Queen to give him a needed male heir.

Which made his first-born son (from a lowly slave) Sub Prince Murduk, furious since he’d previously declared his half-sister as wife to solidify his claim to the throne.

Because I like to write about strong-willed women, Inanna wasn’t about to stick around for either of them. She sneaks down to Earth to avoid a life of enslavement. There she meets the love of her life, a hybrid human/alien called Adapa.

The other thing I wanted different in this story is those with the “superpowers” are the humans, not the aliens. Because of the mixing of the genetic material between them and us, they created human “gods” with strong psychic powers: telekinetic, mind-reading, teleporting, shapeshifting, and empathic manipulation capabilities. Just for fun, I threw in a vampire with all the trappings of being one.

The Final Installment - Alien Legacy: The Mage

Desperate to find Inanna to make her his wife, Sub Prince Murduk (after the unexpected death of King Du-Uru) needs her to assert his position as the new king. He orders unscrupulous scientists to create women as a trap for Inanna’s sons. If he has them, he can threaten their lives to force Inanna back to Akurn. The plan fails when rebels kidnap the young girls as toddlers and hides them from Murduk.

This last installment of the series is about the eldest son of Inanna and Adapa (he’s the firstborn in a set of boy quintuplets). Raiden is gifted with an extraordinary array of psychic abilities that surpasses even those of his brothers. His powers are so strong that he often worries about losing control and causing harm unintentionally. He struggles to maintain an ironclad control over his powers, never allowing them to slip for one moment. A single mistake could be catastrophic, and the stakes are too high for any hesitation or doubt.

In comes Jazmi, one of those hybrid/alien females whose psychic powers rival Raiden’s. As the eldest of five women, Jazmi vows to resist her genetic programming to protect Raiden and his brothers from the Akurns. She knows that their fate - and the fate of the entire world - hangs in the balance. She’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe and prevent the Akurns from finding them. With her fierce determination and unbreakable will, Jazmi fights tirelessly to keep them and her loved ones out of harm's way. And the only way to save Earth from the destructive invasion of the Akurns was to work closely with Raiden.

But Jazmi is plagued by her own inner demons. As the weight of the world rests on her shoulders, she knows there isn’t room for personal terrors. As mounting pressures build with each passing moment, she’s confronted with the only way to emerge victorious was to confront her personal fears head on. She’s terrified that’s something she can’t do.

And falling in love was never part of the plan.
