This week's shopping cart update includes some goodies books that are releasing this week including 2 from our very own PRomantics!
If you're out book shopping, don't forget to add these to your shopping cart to put on your shelf.
Summer's Wolf (Westervelt Wolves Book 2) by Rebecca Royce
Available now at Liquid Silver Books
Blurb: See below. :-)
Rae's Thoughts: Really enjoyed the first one and I'm even more excited to see the world expand with family members on both the hero and heroine's sides. There are some mysteries that were hinted at in the first book that I'm also dying to see played out. Looking forward to that mixture of great paranormal world building, suspense and a sweet romance.
The Haunting of Amelia Pritchart by Sandra Sookoo
Available now at The Wild Rose Press
Blurb: See below:-)
Rae's Thoughts: Sandi has a wonderful way with quirky likable characters. She's a great go to gal for a pick-me-up, feel good read and I'm looking forward to seeing her tackle a darker paranormal.
Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire
Available now in bookstores
Blurb: October “Toby” Daye, a changeling who is half human and half fae, has been an outsider from birth. After getting burned by both sides of her heritage, Toby has denied the Faerie world, retreating to a “normal” life. Unfortunately for her, the Faerie world has other ideas…
The murder of Countess Evening Winterrose pulls Toby back into the fae world. Unable to resist Evening’s dying curse, which binds her to investigate, Toby must resume her former position as knight errant and renew old alliances. As she steps back into fae society, dealing with a cast of characters not entirely good or evil, she realizes that more than her own life will be forfeited if she cannot find Evening’s killer.
Rae's Thoughts: I squeed the moment I saw this come into my mailbox the other day. Urban fantasy goodness with a side of film noir featuring fae. Gotta have it. I've been hearing so many good things about this book and I managed to catch a podcast and video interview featuring Seanan McGuire. She seems like a total sweetie with a bubbly personality and (bonus!) a fellow geek girl. I'll definitely be following her Penguin blog.
If my current reading shelf wasn't overfilled, I'd definitely be reading this one now. I'll be swinging this in the moment I have an opening though. :-)
Queene of Light by Jennifer Armintrout
Available now in bookstores
Blurb: An unimagined destiny an undeniable passion.
In a time not long from now, the veil between fantasy and reality is ripped asunder creatures of myth and fairytale spill into the mortal world. Enchanted yet horrified, humans force the magical beings Underground, to colonize the sewers and abandoned subway tunnels beneath their glittering cities.
But even magic folk cannot dwell in harmony and soon two Worlds emerge: the Lightworld, home to faeries, dragons and dwarves; and the Darkworld, where vampires, werewolves, angels and demons lurk.
Now, in the dank and shadowy place between Lightworld and Darkworld, a transformation is about to begin....
Ayla, a half-faery, half-human assassin is stalked by Malachi, a Death Angel tasked with harvesting mortal souls. They clash. Immortality evaporates, forging a bond neither may survive. And in the face of unbridled ambitions and untested loyalties, an ominous prophecy is revealed that will shake the Worlds.
Rae's Thoughts: Fae? I'm so there. Jennifer Armintrout is known for her Blood Ties vampire series (not to be confused with the Blood Books by Tanya Huff for which Blood Ties the TV series is based on). I'm sooo behind on current paranormal series due to an overglut of the market but I'm slowly making my way on the popular ones. I'm dying to see Armintrout's Fae series especially featuring a female assassin. What can I say, I love the assassin heroes and heroines!

WOO HOO! Rae, I finally feel part of a trend because the first two books on the list hold a space on my cyber shelf and, like you, I can't wait to dig in.
Love the post. It's nice to know what's out there.
Rae,
Thank you for putting my book on your list. I'm really honored and so glad you liked the first one. And I had no idea Jennifer Armintrout's book had come out. Can I say running to amazon?
Rebecca
Thanks Rae for the shout out! As for darker paranormal, you'll have to wait until Vegetarian at Midnight is released. :-) That's dark. Fang Shui is kinda dark but still has humor. :-) Then there's always the food critic/vamp I'm waiting on from submissions...
Yay! Happy reading, Joann! :-D
Np, Rebecca! I love your world building and can't wait to see more stories there. Lol I just found out myself about JA's book. Can't wait to try that one!
My pleasure, Sandi! Ooh, I'm adding those to my shelves. I'd love to know more about that food critic/vamp story. That sounds like it'll be an interesting story! :-) Wishing you a big A for Acceptance on it!
So much to read and so little time to do it. I love the path paranormal romance is following.
