I love writing about the strange and unusual. So far, I’ve written about ghosts, werewolves, shifters, vampires, angels, and demons. I think I’ve covered everything in the paranormal realm, right? Well, maybe not zombies… But in that instance, brains aren’t sexy. ;-) When things are out of this world, I can make the rules up as I go and have fun doing it. I create the world and have more control over the people in it.
I also love writing about the dark and the dangerous. High tension scenes make my day. Nothing keeps the pages turning (and the H/H running into each other’s arms) like a life-threatening situation. Plus, I need to feed my bad-boy addiction from time to time. I love a hero that could either kill the heroine or leave her a post-orgasmic puddle of goo.
But ultimately, I think it comes down to the fact I was born on Halloween. My parents always joked that they couldn’t tell if I was a trick or a treat. But today, the treats are for you. I’m giving away electronic copies of “Provoking the Spirit” (my naughty ghost story) and Cat’s Eyes (my sexy shifter story) to one of the commenters. Warning: both of these are on the steamy side.

I think it's because anything can happen. We always live with a "what if" at the back of our minds so reading or writing the paranormal allows us to put our imaginations into action. It's dark and deadly but yet there's loyalty and love at stake. It's fantastical but there's always a little bit of reality that makes us go "it could happen."
I love the paranormal because it gives me assurance that there is more to life that what we see & feel with our five senses. It allows me to let my imagination reign free....It allows us to get in touch with our deeper emotions...I love the mystery, the sensuality, the darkness...it's emotions stripped down to the bare bones...can't get sexier than that...

The paranormal touches on what we think may be possible but are sometimes afraid to explore. It takes us outside our safety box and shakes us up enough to question tidy little answers for unusual phenomena. Plus, doesn't it feel good in a creepy kind of way to have the hair raised on the back of your neck?

I enjoy the paranormal books because it is not of this world, or the world that I know:) All you hear and see anymore is chaos and problems that is happening to real people. The paranormal is a little bit of everything and basically they can do what they want, they are not hurting anyone and you can enjoy what is going on with the characters.

I love the paranormal because of my mother and my childhood. I grew up in a large old house behind a mortuary, and all the neighborhood kids thought my house was haunted. My mother was an expert in supernatural happenings (long story), and she taught me a lot.
I'm loving all of your responses - it definitely gives me fuel to keep writing the paranormal (which I'll need because NaNo start tomorrow!).
